Cured In Place Pipe Specifications

Perma-Liner Sectional Point Repair System

The sectional point repair are manufactured and delivered in a complete kit form. Each kit is sized to suit the diameter, length, and external loads. This process involves attaching the sectional point repair to a specialized bladder, then positioning the bladder over the damaged area inside the host pipe.

The bladder is then inflated and held in place until the thermo-setting resin is cured. Access points are required through upstream and downstream manholes. Prior to installation of the sectional point repair, the host pipe is cleaned and free of any foreign objects. This will allow adhesion to the host pipe material with the Perma-Liner Sectional Point Repair.

The Perma-Liner Sectional Point Repair is considered a structural repair per ASTMF-1216. The ASTM Specification testing requirements are based on a minimum life expectancy of 50 years.

The Perma-Liner Sectional Repairs can be installed in pipe diameters from 6 inches (152.4 mm) to 54 inches (1371.6 mm) diameter and lengths from 2 feet (0.6096 m) up to 30 feet (9.1440 m) in length. If a sectional point repair is positioned over a lateral junction, the junction can be re-opened with a specialized robotic cutter after the pipe is lined.

Perma-Liner Industries, Inc. has developed a Sectional Lining Point Repair Process that involves a short liner being installed inside the pipe to cover the damaged or missing pipe section.

Sectional Point Repair Technology

Perma-Liner Point Repair affords the contractor and customer several advantages over conventional pipe replacement and manhole-to-manhole pipe relining techniques. The contractor can make several structural repairs in the time normally taken to do one dig and replace repair. The repair is completed quickly, does not disrupt surface activities and is cost effective.

It is no longer necessary to reline a pipe from manhole-to-manhole in order to address one section of pipe. Now we can simply reline the area in need of repair. The Perma-Liner Point Repair System consists of a fiberglass reinforced Liner and Ambient Cured Resins. The Point Repair Kits are sold from 6″ to 54″ in diameter and 2′ to 30′ in length.

The Point Repair forms a structural, permanent waster-proof repair which seals all types of pipe against infiltration and ex-filtration. The finished repair is stronger than the original pipe. This repair has a superior bond to the existing pipe equally in wet or dry conditions and because the resin is 100% solids, there is no shrinkage and therefore no annular space between the pipe and repair that could cause leakage. The repair system can be used equally well in warm or cold climates.
